Corey comes to BVH with more than 25 years of industry experience. As both an architect and a business strategist, he brings a unique perspective to the firm. Originally from Osceola, NE, Corey grew up on a tractor on his family’s farm, which he continues to enjoy visiting with his wife, Beatriz, and their four children.
Although he has lived and worked in Chicago for the past two decades, he has Omaha roots, and is a graduate of the Leadership Omaha program. He has worked on such well-known projects as the Flagship Commons @ Westroads, Hyatt Place Old Market and the Hines T3 office building in Minneapolis–currently the tallest timber building in the US.
What is your favorite place you have visited?
I have been several places around the world, but I enjoy simplicity, so Bonita Springs, FL.
What is the most impactful thing you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Don’t sweat the small stuff – and it’s all small stuff.
What is your favorite building?
Being a simple, less is more type of person, the Apple store in Chicago. It was designed by Norman Foster and is a very simple yet elegant design that is a showcase structure on the Chicago River and adjacent to the Michigan Avenue bridge.
