Woodrow Wilson Middle School

As part of a major overhaul of their Middle School facilities, Wilson Middle School in Council Bluffs, IA, underwent a 130,000 sf renovation, with an addition of nearly 5,000 sf. The project created a new main entry, administrative area, student services area, and improved functionality for the cafeteria and food service area.

Programmatic updates include modifying the out-dated departmental layout to a 21st Century Learning Team concept—complete with new, bright and colorful finishes, flexible classroom spaces, upgraded wireless technology, and added natural daylight.

Safety and security improvements provide a new multi-check-point secured main entry area, and an access control and video monitoring system throughout the building. Additional improvements will include remodeling all restroom and locker areas for full accessibility and replacing all outdated mechanical and electrical equipment.
