OPS High School Visioning

BVH led the High School Visioning process for Omaha Public Schools’ 20-year facility planning team. The efforts assisted OPS in examining each of their existing comprehensive high schools for opportunities in under-utilized spaces, exploring biophilia implementation ideas, and researching how OPS College and Career Academies and Pathways (CCAP) Programs need to be facilitated.

Evidence shows biophilic elements and design techniques reduce stress, help cognitive function, facilitate healing and student learning, and support overall human well-being. As purpose-driven designers, BVH utilizes biophilic design principles as key building blocks for learning environments.

Twelve sites have been studied and are being further refined. The BVH team worked with other local partners including BCDM Architects who led the facility assessment and projections portion of the project.
