Lifegate Christian School

The BVH team used their combined experience in educational design and intergenerational learning to create spaces for all ages in the renovation and addition to Lifegate Church and Christian School. BVH has worked with Lifegate over the past decade to complete several phases of additions and renovations to both the church and school, creating a holistic space for learning, fellowship and community.

Most recently, the school received new and expanded classrooms including STEM and robotics learning areas, a cafeteria, administrative offices, and a new preschool. The church added learning, play and fellowship spaces for their infant through adult programming. Careful attention was given to the needs and learning styles of each group while keeping spaces as flexible as possible.

With church and school activities happening concurrently, security had become a major concern for Lifegate. BVH worked with all parties to create secure zones within the church that limited access to areas while still complying with all codes. The school and children’s areas has separate secure check-in spaces that maintain an open, welcoming presence for the community. Consideration was given to incorporating branded colors and wayfinding, so that visual cues made navigation through the space intuitive.
