Southeast Community College Academic Excellence Center

Designed in collaboration with Multistudio, the new multi-disciplinary building provides students and faculty modern general classrooms as well as state-of-the-art general and health science labs on the Beatrice campus. This three-story structure promotes interconnected learning environments by connecting faculty with students both in and out of the classroom, as well as integrating opportunities for the community and local industry to connect with Southeast Community College.

Glass walls provide direct views to the learning happening within the active learning classrooms and labs, while wide, day-lit thoroughfares encourage student collaboration interspersed within pedestrian traffic.

With views to the landscape, the large multi-purpose room provides a flexible environment for panel discussions, industry conferences, and even theatrical performances. Thoughtful public spaces have been incorporated both inside and out, providing a collegiate campus feel for students and visitors to the Beatrice campus. This project sets the standard for the new academic quad being established on campus while also setting a high standard for energy performance for future buildings on campus.
