Community College of Aurora Center for STEM, Power Mechanics, and Applied Technologies

The new Center for STEM, Power Mechanics, and Applied Technologies will unite and house the STEM (Science, Math, and Engineering), Construction, and Power Mechanics departments for the Community College of Aurora. Located on the CentreTech Campus, this facility will create a culture of collaboration allowing exposure and visibility to the diverse yet related program elements.

The facility will be capable of supporting and growing the ever-changing needs of technology while supporting student’s success and the partnership with community and industry partners. CCA’s vision and mission to serve the diverse community they reach will be empowered with this new building.

This project is a great example of the intersection of BVH’s core values of people, knowledge, and wonder. The STEM & Power Mechanics Building empowers diverse communities in the City of Aurora, highlights and exposes the value of knowledge through visibility and the cross-pollination of classrooms and departments, and creates wonder by elevating and celebrating the unique programs through design.

This facility will also support Aurora Public Schools PTECH program (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) wherein high school students can work toward career pathway credits. The pathways build directly into program tracks at CCA leading toward advanced credentials and associate degrees in STEM and high-growth industries.

Program areas include:

  • Construction Management
  • Diesel Technology / Power Mechanics
  • Chemistry / Anatomy / Biology
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Innovation Lab
  • Shared Offices
  • Academic Services
  • PTECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools)
