Thinh joined BVH in August of 2023. Originally from Vietnam, Thinh relocated to the US in 2014, where he eventually attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.S. in Architecture. Thinh plans to attend graduate school in the near future to finish his Masters.
Thinh’s interest in architecture stems from his love for creating and design’s ability to improve living standards. He loves that design can help change the community and make an impact for the betterment of the community and its residents.
Outside of the studio, you can find Thinh maintaining a healthy work/life balance. He finds joy in traveling, listening to music, and playing video games. Thinh also likes to collect parts for, build, and upgrade his computer.
What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
I have had the opportunity to visit Chicago a couple of times and I have always been fascinated with the city. Its skyline along with the various architecture makes Chicago a great place for architectural appreciation.
What is your favorite building or who is your favorite architect and why?
My favorite architect is Mies van de Rohe. His architecture language regarding verticality, partition components, decorative structural elements, and overall design helped shape Chicago, and his influence is renowned in the architectural world.
What is the future of architecture and design?
I believe that the future of architecture and design revolves around modernism and the integration of parametric, sustainable, and biophilic design.
