In December 2018, Jade joined BVH to help with drafting support and later moved to the Interior Design department as an intern during the summer of 2019. She spent most of her childhood in Lincoln, Hickman, and Crete, but now lives with her husband in Papillion. Jade is currently studying at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and plans to graduate in May 2023 with a Bachelors of Interior Design.
Her interest in interior design and architecture originated in high school when she learned how occupied spaces can affect the sense of belonging and the user experience.
Whenever Jade isn’t in one of the studios or at school, she likes to spend time with her husband and friends playing corn hole, renovating her house, and even going off-roading in their Jeep.
What is the favorite place you have visited?
It has to be when we visited Ouray, Colorado for a Jeep trip in 2019. It was a fantastic experience driving up the side of mountains and exploring new places for half a week. An awe-inspiring landscape filled with lasting memories.
What is the most impactful thing you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Design is not limited to what you can see. Design relates to how you perceive a space and come into contact with it as you navigate through it. We’re not here to only make a space beautiful; we’re here to make an impact on people today and in the future.
What inspires you?
Having the opportunity to work and learn with everyone at BVH instils in me a desire to continue learning and enhancing my design knowledge.
