A true Omaha native with the credentials to match, Heather joined the BVH team in the Spring of 2026. She brings two decades of deep-rooted experience in the local AE industry to the table. After earning both her BSD and MBA from the University of Nebraska, Heather has dedicated her career to shaping the community she calls home—a passion that continues to drive her work today.

A lifelong student of art, design, and architecture, Heather is driven by a fascination with the human experience. She views every project as an opportunity to study how people live and interact, believing that even the most ‘everyday’ moments can be elevated through intentional design. For Heather, the true measure of success is how a space transforms the rhythm of daily life.

At home, life is a vibrant mix of family and creative pursuits. Heather enjoys spending time with family and a duo of high-energy rescue dogs. Her weekends are a curated blend of local sports and quiet escapes; whether she’s traveling to a new destination, getting her hands dirty at a pottery wheel, or unwinding with a book and a glass of wine, she finds inspiration in the art of everyday living.

What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
As a designer, staying at the Whale House in Santa Barbara was like stepping into a living, breathing sculpture. It’s a surreal, Gaudi-inspired masterpiece designed by Michael Carmichael in the ’70s that defies every traditional “rule” of residential design. Sharing that space with my family—complete with its own private grotto—was a masterclass in how design can create a place of pure, whimsical wonder.

How do you engage with your community?
For me, community engagement isn’t a separate task—it’s the heartbeat of my career. Having spent 20 years designing for Omaha’s businesses and non-profits, I’ve had the rare privilege of seeing my friends and family live their lives in side the spaces I’ve helped create. Knowing that my work directly supports the organizations that make our city thrive gives every project a deeper sense of purpose.

What project are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of a project that proved the power of a ‘total team’ mindset. We knew we had a special opportunity on our hands, and we chose to lean into a completely collaborative process. Architects, interior designers, and project managers worked in total lockstep, ensuring every perspective was valued. That environment of mutual respect allowed us to push boundaries and create something far more impactful than we could have ever designed alone.
