Deb joined the BVH Finance team in October, 2020 after a 26 year employment at a life insurance company in Accounts Payable. Deb grew up in Madison, Nebraska and attended Wayne State College with an emphasis in accounting. She then went onto Cosmetology school, Joseph’s College of Beauty in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her lifetime goal of running her own Salon changed when she met her husband. His employment took them to Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, and several cities throughout Nebraska.
Deb has always been intrigued by the construction world and how things are designed—not only by the functionality of each room but also the building’s exterior beauty. She has attended the Parade of Homes in Lincoln for several years and enjoys the design of each home. Deb’s daughter, who is in a Construction profession, was a big influence in her moving to the architecture industry.
Deb and her husband have two children, a daughter and son. She treasures the time spent with family, and especially spoiling her two granddaughters. She is an avid Husker fan, taking pleasure in attending Husker volleyball games.
What is the favorite place you have visited?
Hawaii. I have visited twice to see different islands as each island has its own uniqueness.
What inspires you?
People, particularly my Grandmother who lived to the age of 102. She worked hard on the farm, most days wearing a dress while milking cows and feeding the pigs and chickens. She inspires me to work hard, treat others with respect, help people in time of need and life will be rewarded with riches.
What project are you most proud of?
I’m not an Architect by profession, but I have labored with family members to install new windows, siding, shingles, and sidewalk pavers at our family cabin. The task of learning these construction skills was monumental along with applying the skills to achieve the end result.
