An Omaha native, Dalia joined BVH during the summer of 2025 as an interior design intern. Dalia just finished her third year at Iowa State University.
Dalia’s passion for interior design comes from a fusion of interests in art and architecture. Interior design is an outlet for making creative design decisions and improving the human experience.
Outside of the studio, Dalia maintains a healthy work-life balance by spending time outside and in nature. You can find her running or hiking, often with friends and family. She also keeps herself busy by flexing her creativity with painting, collage, and ceramic projects.
What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
My favorite place I’ve visited was Sudan because of the strong culture, Nile River views, and the amazing food.
What are you reading/watching/doing/listening to right now that is inspiring your work?Â
I am taking inspiration from the community and the connection between people. I am interested in how to encourage and engage the users of the space through design.
What is the future of architecture and why?
The future of architecture and design is the concept of character. People desire uniqueness, attention to detail, and a ‘wow-factor’ to elevate their experiences. Whether that is achieved by murals, ceiling elements, or other creative solutions—the character of the space will make or break the success of a design.
What problem would you like to solve with design?
I would like to enhance workplace design to encourage employees to be productive, social, and comfortable.
