An Omaha native, Dalia recently completed her third year in the Interior Design program at Iowa State University.
Dalia’s passion for interior design comes from a fusion of interests in art and architecture. For her, Interior Design is an outlet for creative decision making and improving the human experience.
Outside of the studio, Dalia maintains a healthy work-life balance by spending time outside and in nature, often running or hiking with friends and family. Additionally, Dalia keeps herself busy with painting, collage, or her next crochet project.
What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
My favorite place I have visited was Sudan because of the strong culture, the Nile River views, and the amazing food.
What are you reading/watching/doing/listening to right now that is inspiring your work?
I am taking inspiration from the community and the connection between people. I am interested in how to encourage and engage the users of a space through design.
What is the future of architecture and design?
The future of architecture and design is the concept of character. People desire uniqueness, attention to detail, and a “wow-factor” to elevate their experiences. Whether that is achieved by murals, ceiling elements, or other creative solutions, the character of the space will make or break the success of the design.
What problem would you like to solve with design?
I would like to enhance workplace design to encourage employees to be productive, social, and comfortable.
