Old Federal Building

BVH Architecture provided historic preservation design services for the rehabilitation of Lincoln’s Old Federal Building into a mixed-use downtown landmark. Key renovations included the conversion of redundant office spaces into several apartments, a restaurant, event spaces, and modern work spaces. The unused 4th and 5th floors were renovated into a penthouse site.

Tru-Built, as general contractor, overcame a truncated schedule and limited access for construction equipment with simple but thoughtful solutions to complete the renovation in just 4.5 months. The finished product seamlessly blends old and new components, including two miles of custom millwork, custom-made black walnut cabinetry, and a rooftop atrium and skylights—all while keeping the historical features intact.
