First Covenant Master Plan

First Covenant Church of Omaha, a multigenerational, family-centric faith congregation, asked BVH to develop a facility master plan that would address infrastructure needs, be used as a future framework for growth, and be a tool to assist in attracting new members.

Over one hundred members attended the Vision and Design Workshops to supply vital input to the BVH team. After the information was analyzed, common themes emerged, which gave a firm direction to the design and built consensus among the congregation.

The final design includes a new, inviting glass entry featuring a two-story space to optimize interior views, wayfinding, and security while doubling as a space to socialize. The new fellowship hall compliments the transparent entry by introducing panoramic views to the exterior courtyard on the east side of the building. The sanctuary plans for new lighting as well as audio/visual upgrades to complement First Covenant’s dynamic music groups. This master plan offers a comprehensive design that satisfies function and performance with infrastructure upgrades while offering beautiful and flexible spaces that will adapt to the future needs of First Covenant Church.
