Will Corcoran

Project Architect / Associate

Will joined the Omaha office of BVH in March of 2018. Originally from Omaha, Will has spent the last 15+ years studying and practicing architecture in NYC and Chicago. After completing his B.Arch. at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Will earned a M.Arch. at the University of Illinois-Chicago and a M.Eng. at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.

Drawing on experience gained while living and practicing in highly urbanized environments, Will has gained great insight into the nuances of mixed-use, multifamily, and developer-driven building typologies. Will enjoys the multifaceted challenge of unlocking the latent potential of a site while maximizing the value of a project through an analytical approach to design.

When Will is not at the studio you can usually find him hanging out with his partner, Fara, and their black lab, Kefa.  Together they like to swim, cook, listen to music, and breakdown football tape (she’s a Software Engineer at Hudl ).

What is your favorite place you have visited?
Grand Army Plaza farmers market, Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, New York

What is the most impactful thing you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Successful buildings are the byproduct of several successful relationships.

What are you reading/watching/doing/listening to right now that is inspiring your work?
Listening to: “Get Up With It” by Miles Davis, Imaginational Anthem Vol 1-8, and the works of Steve Reich.

What is your favorite building or who is your favorite architect and why?
I have a renewed appreciation for Adler and Sullivan.  At the time it was built, their Auditorium Building in Chicago was mind-blowingly innovative in so many ways.
