Sandra joined BVH in June of 2022. Originally from Chicago, Sandra has spent her 20+ year career working in the AEC industry in Arizona, focusing on marketing planning, strategic project pursuits, and supporting firms through implementing the tactics needed for success. Sandra graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. An introvert who wanted people to pay attention to her, she competed for NAU’s Speech and Debate team and has been a mentor and coach to several universities and colleges ever since.
As a technical writer for an engineering firm, Sandra started her career in the trenches of AEC operations—which gave her a deep understanding of project and pursuit challenges. Her industry experience and know-how give her the superpower to translate technical jargon into content that communicates the achievements and knowledge of our clients.
Recently moving here from Phoenix, Sandra and her husband are acquainting themselves with everything Husker—including football, volleyball, and basketball games. Missing the warm weather, she and her husband enjoy traveling to Hawaii and Mexico.
What is the most impactful thing you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Never stop learning, because it gives you courage. The more knowledgeable you are, the more comfortable you feel.
What inspires you?
Speaking honestly, many things inspire me. Any time I see someone overcome adversity, or beat the odds—be it in sport, politics, business, or arts—it inspires me to also try to give my best shot to life.
