Ryan Watson, AIA, LEED AP

Project Architect

Lincoln has been Ryan’s home the majority of his life. However, after graduating from UNL in 2005, he spent three years in Chicago, primarily designing 90+ story skyscrapers and higher education facilities. Ryan then moved back to Lincoln to start a family and has been a BVH’er ever since. He is also a Captain with the 155 Air Refueling Wing, Nebraska Air National Guard. BVH has supported him through two combat deployments to Baghdad, Iraq and Bagram AB, Afghanistan, with another deployment to Afghanistan in the upcoming year. He is currently working on his second master’s degree in Military Operational Art and Science with an emphasis in Joint Warfare.

Ryan’s architectural interests are derived from a romantic reverence for the agrarian lifestyle, finding ways to impart values of wholesomeness, community, and work ethic into built place. His three kids get to live this each day, as they are literally growing up in a barn.

The outdoors is a constant lodestone for Ryan. Backpacking, fishing, camping with friends and family, and working on old Jeeps are the threads that weave sanity back into an otherwise incredibly hectic lifestyle.
