Kent Bentley

Architectural Intern

Kent joined BVH in January 2020. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and started his architecture degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He’s currently finishing his master’s at Kansas State University.

Kent was inspired to become an architect by his grandfather, whose work when he was a child fascinated him. In high school he often found himself interested in creative projects and has come to appreciate great design and details in the world around him, which in turn fuels his interest in design.

When he’s not in the office, Kent enjoys rock climbing, Japanese cars, and playing the sax with his brothers and father. A high school runner, Kent completed two marathons and three half-marathons before graduation.

What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
Estes Park, Colorado.

What inspires you?
Spaces that I have seen or been in in the past. I am inspired by the human scale and how we interact with the architecture we inhabit.

What is the most impactful thing you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Don’t focus on what others can do better than you—focus on what you can do well and perfect that.
