Josue Ventura

Architectural Intern

jventura@bvh.com

Josue joined the BVH team in the Summer of 2024. Originally from Grand Island, NE, Josue is currently pursuing his Master’s in Architecture at Kansas State University.

Josue’s interest in architecture stemmed from a number of factors, beginning with his passion of drawing and watching his father solve construction problems through home renovations. These experiences opened his eyes to the built environment. The process of sketching an idea and working through it until the built result fascinated him and solidified his passion for architecture.

Outside of architecture, Josue enjoys playing soccer, spending time with his family, and listening to Kanye. On most afternoons, you can find him at the soccer field, playing a good game of pick-up.

What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
New York City, NY

What inspires you?
Music is a source of inspiration for me. Listening to different types of music allows me to think and explore ideas from different angles.

What is your favorite building or who is your favorite architect and why?
This tends to change with time but I am currently enamored with the work of Glenn Murcutt. The simplicity and careful consideration with which he treats each site, harmonizing his designs with the natural landscape, results in architecture that is beautiful.
