Annie Honerkamp

Executive Administrator

Annie joined BVH in November of 2018. Her current role includes accounting,  general office management, and assisting the directors. Annie is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, though she also spent time in Crete while going to school at Doane College, where she graduated with a BA in Music and English.

In high school, Annie considered studying architecture, but found her passion in music instead. She often enjoyed mapping out houses and stores in grid notebooks and collecting home design magazines. The structure and orderliness of architecture, and the beauty and function created by a plan are very appealing.

When not keeping the Lincoln studio in line, Annie spends her time with her husband, Forest, two-year-old son, Jack, and corgi, Rocky. Annie and Forest are board game enthusiasts and play with a group of friends weekly. Annie is an avid knitter, which she enjoys for its orderliness that creates a functional design. She also can be found towing her son around to different city parks on her bike when the weather is pleasant.

What is the favorite place you have visited?
Edinburgh, Scotland.

What is your favorite building and why?
I’ve visited a lot of symphony and concert halls. The  Morton H Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha are two of my favorites.

How do you engage your community?
I head up a local knit club and enjoy community bike and beer oriented activities.

What inspires you?
Daily life. I’m most inspired when a project finds me, instead of the other way around.
