Born and raised in Lincoln, NE, Pierce received his Masters of Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2019. He joined BVH’s team in 2017 as a Student Intern and was elevated to Project Coordinator in 2019. His passion for people and life extends beyond the boundaries of the office as he aims to design a better community and a better world for all.

Throughout his studies, Pierce formed a passion for research-oriented design, focused simultaneously on the issues affecting the world today and the potential design interventions that could address them. His graduate studies focused heavily on alternative methods of designing, using text, image, film, and model to create theoretical and provocative views on architecture. Other research interests include experimenting between analog and digital design processes and playing with the aesthetic nature of objects.

Outside of the studio, Pierce considers himself an avid traveler, craft beer aficionado, sports enthusiast, and part-time run junkie.

What is your favorite place you have visited?
I greatly admire Europe, most notably Spain and the Netherlands. I was first attracted by the historic structures and their dichotomy with modern buildings. I continue to return for the cultures: food, open-minded people with their unique lifestyles, and the landscapes that tie it all together.

What project are you most proud of?
The transformation of an abandoned HyVee Grocery Store into a spiritual gathering place. It has given a new life to a forgotten structure while working to tie this community together.
